Kurt Varricchio has been practicing law in California since 2002. His primary areas of focus include business law and litigation, intellectual property (copyright and trademark), construction law, contract law, and sports and entertainment law. Never one to acquiesce to unreasonable demands, Kurt has successfully engaged in more than 800 mediations and negotiations, saving his clients millions of dollars. Although the vast majority of Kurt's time as a business attorney is spent at the negotiating table, he has also litigated cases in both State and Federal Court as well as the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office as a trademark attorney.
Kurt is licensed to practice in all state courts in California as well as the US District Court for the Southern District of California, the US District Court for the Central District of California and the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Kurt is also certified by the MLB Players Association and serves as the President of KVA Sports, LLC, an athlete representation firm that specializes in the representation and management of professional athletes.
While Kurt has served as a guest lecturer on various legal topics for the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, the University of San Diego School of Law and Saddleback Community College in Orange County, California, his passion centers on helping at-risk teens and adolescents. A product of Florida's Foster Care System, Kurt published his memoir, Behind in the Count: My Journey from Juvenile Delinquent to Baseball Agent in June, 2018. Using his book as a platform, Kurt continues to talk with at-risk youth across the country wherein he discusses the importance of developing objectives and pursuing personal and professional goals in light of the challenges these youth face.
